The Class of 2028 attended the Junior Career Day at Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon on Monday. Each student selected three careers to learn about and participated in a large college fair. #GrowAtSO #WolverineWay

They received a grant from the State of Iowa for funding, but it has been delayed. This means they need to raise money to be able to compete this year. Any donations will be greatly appreciated.

5th graders worked hard learning all about matter, so we had to celebrate! We wrapped up our Matter Module with pancakes and A Bug’s Life! And of course, there was a little science sneaking in… We’re using A Bug’s Life to help kick off our next module: ECOSYSTEMS!

JH/HS students are invited to a clothing giveaway during free DISCOVER on Friday, October 9th in Mr. Hansen's room. There will be a mix of gently used Wolverine gear and regular clothing items.

Little Paws and Pee Wee Paws Preschool had a great day at Solsma's Pumpkin Patch! They got to look at different pumpkins, gourds, squash, and corn. At the end they were able to peel back the layers of corn and see what was inside. They even got to pick out their own little pumpkin to take home! 🎃

🎶 12 South O'Brien singers participated in the NWICDA TrebleFest at Storm Lake High School on September 30th. Over 700 high-voice singers from all over Northwest Iowa were in attendance. Students rehearsed 2 pieces for 3 hours before one final run-through for the pure enjoyment of singing! #GrowAtSO #WolverineWay

5th graders have been working hard on the Great South O’Brien Book Challenge! Classes are competing to see who can read the most books by the end of the school year. Students spend time reading daily, tracking their reading minutes, and sharing book reviews along the way. September’s results are in, and our 5th graders read an amazing 84 books this month! Students also enjoyed some prizes for turning in their book logs. Keep up the great work, 5th graders!
